Snorkeling is great here. Make sure you go at high tide, or close to it , when the water is clear. If you go at low tide the water is murky and you can't find the sites under water. The morning crowd seems to be a bit tamer, in my experience. We've visited several times. In the morning the crowd has always been divers and families. When we went in the evening there were quit a few shady people blaring rap music, cussing and drinking. Also there was a noticeable homeless presence. Watch out for trash under the bridge. Wear shoes! The bathrooms are downright disgusting. Don't plan on changing here, come in your swimsuit and be ready to go home wet. Seriously. There were soaked and nasty pads and diapers on the floor, no toilet paper in any of the stalls, and the entire place reeked of urine. Just don't.
Four stars for the Snorkeling, two for the park.
nice small park on the beach to that scream family fun equipped with restroom and plenty of seating areas ideally for picnics or just to relax and meditate by the water a very enjoyable place
This is a very peaceful park with plenty of little fishing spots and places to just sit back and chill. I totally enjoyed myself walking along the trails and people watching.
Nice park but can get pretty busy at times. Vagrants don't bother me but inconsiderate boaters abound. Don't forget to get an annual parking pass for your trailer or pay electronically for the day. I've seen lots of starfish, an octopus, stingray and even a long spine urchin just walking around.
We love this place. Nice relaxing shallow dives, snorkeling, or just playing in the water. There is something for everyone. If diving or snorkeling, be sure to do it at high tide when the water is clear and the tide is calmed. Diving when the tides are coming and going will give you a workout and the water will not be as clear. Visibility is usually better than excellent at high tide, and the variety and amount of sea life does not compare to any other dive I have done so far. Don't miss this spot, it may be better than a boat dive. Great for snorkeling too, but most of the cool stuff is under the east side of the bridge and can be a little dark at certain times of day. If snorkeling, pick a day when high tide will give you top sunlight.
